Ubisoft’s highly anticipated, current-gen AC offering, Assassin’s Creed Unity, is officially set to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC tomorrow – November 11th.
Unity is notable for being the first Assassin’s Creed game to utilize the full capabilities of the PS4 and Xbox One’s next generation hardware, alongside having the highest PC system requirements (both minimum and recommended) of any PC game released thus far.
A user on NeoGAF, known only as EzioCroft, managed to get a copy of the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Unity ahead of the game’s official release, and has shared a number of things regarding the game’s visuals and PC performance – including images of Unity at max settings and screen captures of the game’s graphics settings.
Unfortunately, it initially seems that the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Unity may not be running as smoothly as many PC gamers would have hoped – with the game struggling to stay above 30 fps at 1080p with an i7-2600k and a GTX 780.

Assassin’s Creed Unity PC Performance Issues
The following comes directly from EzioCroft’s personal experience with the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Unity via NeoGAF:Note: The screenshots posted below may contain spoilers, view at your own discretion.

[size]So, I bought Assassin’s Creed Unity (retail boxed copy) today – and my copy works. Downloaded the day-one patch and everything. Seeing as no one posted any impressions yet, I figured Id do it.
Here’s the settings menu. Stupid console interface, and I can’t post 20 screenshots of all the different options – so I’ll just say they’re all what you expect. Game does have a “Borderless Window” mode.

[size]Until now, I only played the beginning bit and well, maxed out (for testing purposes – with all the nVidia stuff) I was barely above 30fps at all times. Sometimes it dropped into the 20s. (Sometimes it was also in the 40s though).
Specs: i7 2600k and GTX 780 @ 1080p with Vsync turned OFF.
Here are some early screenshots – SPOILER ALERT:
It appears as though EzioCroft did not use Nvidia’s latest Game Ready drivers for the game in performance testing, so that may have a considerable amount to do with his numbers. Also, the fact the game was maxed out (Anti-aliasing, soft shadows, et cetera) may have affected the game’s performance significantly.
Keep in mind this is an early report from 1 gamer. This article will be updated if, or when, more analyses for Unity begin to crop up.
