Forza Motorsport 6's new features have been confirmed following last week's leak, with 24 car racing both online and off, 10 new tracks and a car roster in excess of 450 machines - giving it the most comprehensive garage of this generation to date.

Turn 10 is also introducing night racing and wet weather, though there's a catch - both features will not be dynamic, with event conditions set in place and unwavering. Also, wet weather and night racing will only feature on a selection of tracks - those which are considered a reasonable fit for such conditions (so expect a sodden Silverstone as well as racing by night at Daytona and Le Mans). The wet races will also feature '3D puddles' - simulations of standing water that factor in elements such as the porousness of any given surface.

Forza Horizon 2 introduced dynamic weather and time of day, although a Turn 10 representative pointed out that Playground Games' open world sequel was running at 1080p and 30fps, whereas Forza Motorsport 6 will be running at the mainline series' standard 60fps while maintaining that 1080p resolution.

Elsewhere in Forza Motorsport 6 the multiplayer will be bolstered by Forza Race Leagues, though specifics aren't currently forthcoming. Handling will also be bolstered by something called Forza Tech - the results of which will hopefully become clear during hands-on sessions at this week's E3. Also new are female avatars, for the first time in the series - suggesting we'll have more customisation over player characters than before.

The recent deal which saw EA allow Porsche to appear in Forza Horizon 2 will also continue over to Forza Motorsport 6, though it won't bear fruit at the game's launch on September 18th (September 15th in the US), with the famous Stuttgart marque to arrive further down the line.
