Possibly one of the stranger (yet still cool) video game-based Kickstarters to arrive yet, Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight debuted in June to glowing reviews from critics for its old-school nostalgia mixed with the fine-tuned gameplay of today, and with the developer revealing numbers for its first month of sales, it seems players are digging it, too.
In a blog post on developer Yacht Club Games’ site, the studio broke down the debut month sales for Shovel Knight across all platforms, with the game drawing altogether an impressive 180,000 copies sold. Shovel Knight sold 75,000 copies during its first week (taking out Kickstarter pre-sales), and Yacht Club also broke down the total sales by its platforms: PC (38%), 3DS (35%), and Wii U (27%).
Shovel Knight is available now for PC, 3DS, and Wii U, and will also be arriving on Mac and Linux at a later date.
