Rare will announce its next game at E3, studio creative director Simon Woodroffe confirmed on Twitter.
“E3 (and beyond!!!),” Woodroffe replied in response to a fan wondering what Rare is working on.
Woodroffe added, “E3 will tell the world what Gregg Mayles’ new project is about.”
In another tweet, Woodroffe said, “All I can give here is a quote from the man himself ‘This is more fun than anything we’ve ever done.'”
Gregg Mayles is a designer working at Rare. He was a designer on the Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie series, and the director of Banjo-Tooie. He also did design work for Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

The game will be “uniquely Rare,” according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
People will be “really happy to see” it, according to 20 year studio veteran Gavin Price, who’s now heading Playtonic Games and the upcoming Yooka-Laylee.
2015 will be a “huge year” for Rare, according to Rare composer Robin Beanland. Also, pictures of banjos were tweeted, and a NeoGAF poster verified by the forums moderators teased a new Banjo-Kazooie for E3.
